The Cardinals and Berkman agreed Saturday to a one-year deal for $8 million. Berkman hit .248 last season with the Astros and Yankees, hitting 14 long balls with 58 RBIs. “We are extremely excited to have added Lance to our ballclub,” Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said in a press release. “He’s an impact player who not only helps solidify our everyday lineup, but he also brings a wealth of experience to our team.”
